Playing sports is always fun, but they can be very time consuming. Out of school sport not only takes time from your weekends, but also on weekdays after school.

Most out of school sports have practice at least three times a week after school. For each sport there is a very extensive skill set that takes years to learn. The benefits of playing sports are also beneficial throughout your life, sports teach things like time management, responsibility and teamwork skills, sports can also have great physical benefits. Aside from life skills and physical strengths playing sports can help put you through collage, colleges give out scholarships to put athletes on their teams through schooling.

For a lot of sports you have to start at a very young age. Caleb Sandvig, a swimmer, said he has been swimming in meets since he was 4 to 5 years old, however learning how to swim started well before that. He also said that his practices are 6 days a week for two hours each, taking away a lot of free time, and critical homework time. One of the benefits he mentioned was the physical prospect, working out every day is very good for your physical health.

Sports encourage students to be active, and learn teamwork skills. Sports also encourage students to work harder as they have less time for their work, and encourage them to do the best they can. Over all sports give students important life skills that will stick with them for the rest of their lives.
